The couple lived near Horton where they initially began in farming and Willbur then became a carpenter while Leone did housekeeping for area residents. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic and the pies she enjoyed baking and sharing with others. Her husband Willbur died in 1979.
Survivors include three sons, Paul (JoAnn) Hartzell of Colorado Springs, CO, Roger (Kathy) Hartzell of Shell Rock and Robert (Viola) Hartzell of Waverly; thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Bernice Hartzell of Waverly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, JoAnn Tynan and Jeanette Hartzell.
Leone was like a grandmother to me. She was always there for Christmas and card night for as long as I can remember. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who loved her.
