Leonard E. Petersen age 81 of New Hampton, died Saturday, February 8, 2014, at New Hampton Nursing & Rehab Center in New Hampton.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton.

Leonard enjoyed attending church when possible and never missed coffee time. To Leonard’s family sorry for your loss. Memories are forever.
I’ve had the honor and the privilege of knowing him for the past few years, not only as a friend but really more like a grandpa. He has met my family, friends and insisted that he meet any boyfriends or ‘twerps’ as he called them. He’s been my honorary prom date throughout high school and he celebrated my 18th birthday with me. Through weekly phone calls and visits, it is needless to say, Leonard has been a large part of my life throughout the past few years and I feel his absence deeply. Take it easy big guy, I’ll always be your pink shoelaces. <3
I was sorry to hear of Leonard’s death. He always came out to chapel services and took Holy Communion when I brought it to the nursing home. We had some very good talks and quite often he would ask about his former neighbor at the senior housing who is a member of our congregation. I knew he cared about others. God be with your family in your time of loss.
