Leatrice Einck

Leatrice Einck, age 82, of Nashua died Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the United Methodist Church in Nashua with Pastor Alfredo Agtarap presiding. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Nashua, with Noren Smith, Norris Smith, Ken Douglas and Walt Schmitt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mel Anderson, Gerald Vanderwerf, Duane Lines, and Howard Campbell. Friends may greet the family from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2014, at the Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel in Nashua. Visitation continues for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Leatrice Marie Einck was born September 9, 1932, in rural Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Maude (Burbridge) Smith. She attended rural country schools and graduated from Nashua High School in 1951. After graduation, Leatrice worked at Schueth Hardware in New Hampton, and later at Lutheran Mutual in Waverly, Iowa, for over twenty years. During the evenings, she also was a Tupperware representative in both Iowa and Arizona. Leatrice married Leroy Peters in 1954. During their marriage they lived in Missouri and Iowa. The couple later divorced. Leatrice married Wayne Einck on March 22, 1980, at the United Methodist Church in Nashua. They made their home in Youngtown, Arizona until 1992. In 1992 they moved back to Nashua and built their retirement home. Leatrice enjoyed taking care of her yard, working in her garden and watching birds in her backyard. She cherished visiting with her friends, family and neighbors and enjoyed church and community activities. Leatrice was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Nashua. Survivors include one brother, Darwin Smith of Webster City, Iowa; 39 nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne (2006); three brothers, Norman Smith, Carl Smith, Lavane Smith; one sister, Marva Smith; three siblings in infancy.
