She was the only child born to Glen and Norma (Dense) Graves. She received her education in Little Cedar, IA, and was a graduate of the high school there. While still in school, she met Art Havens and the couple were married at the United Methodist Church in Little Cedar on October 1, 1955. They were blessed with four children that kept LaVonne very busy. She loved the outdoors and animals and while the family grew up, there were always dogs and cats nearby. LaVonne also loved flowers, writing poems and even had one of her poems published. The couple initially farmed near Osage before living in several Iowa towns including Dysart where the children all went to school. In 1981, the couple moved to Fredericksburg where Art took a job driving milk truck. In July of 1993, Art passed away and LaVonne later moved to Ionia where she lived for several years before her health deteriorated. She will be remembered by her family as a mother who loved getting them all together for family functions. Survivors include four children; Leslie (Rachel) Havens of Fredericksburg, Arthur (Brenda) Havens of Ionia, Mark (Kristi) Havens of Marshalltown, Jeanette Kriz of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
