Kristofer "Kris" Bergquist

Kristofer Gary Bergquist, affectionately known as Kris, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2023, in Fredericksburg, IA. Born on December 1, 1967, in Minneapolis, MN, Kris lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to his family and friends.
A celebration of Kris's life will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Here’z 2 U Restaurant in Fredericksburg, IA where family and friends will gather to remember the adventurous, loving, and handyman that he was.
Kris attended school in Hawkeye and Fayette, where he developed his love for learning and his strong work ethic. Over the years, Kris held various jobs, but his passion was working on cars as a mechanic. He was known for his ability to fix anything, and his skills were often sought after by friends and family members. Kris's dedication to his work and his association with various organizations in the community left a lasting impact on those who knew him.
An adventurous spirit, Kris enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and fishing. He was an avid cook and grill master, often hosting family and friends for meals at his home. Kris's love for playing pool was evident to all who knew him, as he spent countless hours perfecting his game and competing with friends. Above all, Kris cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his daughter, Alexis.
Kris will be remembered for his loving nature, his adventurous spirit, and his incredible ability to fix anything. He was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend, and his presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Kris is survived by his loving daughter, Alexis Bergquist of Hawkeye, IA, and his devoted son, Ryan Elmblad of Meridian, ID. He is also survived by his two sisters, Dixie Breitbach of Fredericksburg, IA, and Deb Littlejohn of Osakis, MN; three brothers, James Harmening of Fredericksburg, IA, Ken (Barb) Harmening of Sumner, IA, and Mike Harmening of Ionia, IA; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews.
Kris was preceded in death by his parents, Ken Bergquist and LaVonne Heller, and his three brothers, Rick Harmening, Jeff Harmening, and Marty Bergquist.
