Kenneth J. Wolf age 85 of Nashua died Tuesday evening, December 28, 2010, at the Floyd County Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church, Nashua with Pastor Thomas Hagen officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City, with Jeremy Wolf, Wendy Wagner, Brian Wolf, Melinda Wolf, Eric Wolf, Alex Wolf and Crystal Wolf serving as pallbearers. Friends may greet the family 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2010, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Kenneth Junior Wolf was born May 7, 1925, on the Wolf family farm, southeast of Nashua in rural Chickasaw County, IA, the son of Morris and Amy (Ernwine) Wolf. He graduated from Nashua High School in 1943. He was united in marriage to Berniece Plautz on August 1, 1948. To this union, five children were born. They couple farmed together southeast of Nashua for 32 years before retiring to town. Kenneth was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua and was an active member of the church. He was on the church dart ball team. He was a member of the Charles City Twisters Square Dance Club and also held offices in the Iowa Square Dance Federation. He volunteered many hours at the Bradford Pioneer Village Museum. His most enjoyable times were spent taking trips to different countries with Berniece. Survivors include his three sons, Wesley (Jane) Wolf of Nashua, IA, Stanley (Maria) Wolf of Waterloo and Roger (Dianna) Wolf of Lisbon, IA; one daughter, Susan (Darrel) Durand of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Clarice Morrison of St. Paul, MN; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Amy Wolf; his wife, Berniece on April 22, 2004; one son, Larry; one step-brother, Marvin Wolf.

  1. Am sadden to hear about Ken’s passing , Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family . I knew Ken for a long time as a square dancer have met alot of people and ken was special . He will truley be missed but now is dancing with our heavenly father.

  3. Our deepest sympathy to all the family. Even though you don’t know us and we have never met you, we extremely enjoyed square dancing with Kenny on many occasions. He was a wonderful person, a very good dancer and friend. We are truly going to miss him around the square!

  4. My sympathies to all of the Wolf family! Have fond memories of the Wolf family and the Plautz’s! I was surprised to see Larry is gone too…we now reside in AZ. Mom has Alzheimers and lives in Shell Rock Care Center…but know she would also send her sympathies!
