Judy Bennor, age 69, of Nashua, IA, died Monday, January 27, 2020, at Shell Rock Healthcare Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Nashua. Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Judy Kay Bennor was born December 28, 1950, in Charles City, IA, the daughter of Maxine (Lantow) and Max Bennor. She attended school in Nashua and graduated from Nashua High School in 1969. Judy continued her education and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UNI. After graduation, Judy decided she was ready to take a break from Iowa winters and moved to Tucson, AZ. Judy worked for the Sears Corporation in Tucson from 1988 - 1993. Judy decided to return home to Nashua where she was closer to family and could spend time caring for her mother. Judy worked part-time at the Nashua Public Library and spent 13 years there until her recent retirement. Judy was an avid reader and joined book clubs in New Hampton and Charles City. Judy was a "farmhand' when her sister, Janice, needed help. She never missed an episode of the Star Trek series. Judy enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her family and friends and will be remembered for her incredible homemade pies and rolls at family gatherings. Judy is survived by two sisters; Janice Bennor of Ionia, IA, Jeanette (Larry) Oeltjenbruns of Shell Rock, IA; nephew, Bret (Tara) Oeltjenbruns of Burnsville, MN; niece, Bethany (Sam) Renz of Waverly, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister in infancy, Joice Bennor.
