My heart goes out to those closest to Jon,may God give you comfort and peace.
When I met Jon I was living in Fargo, North Dakota. Jon took a job in Aurora, Colorado and he convinced me to move there with my family in 1978 .We worked at the same Chevrolet dealership for a short time. He was in sales and I was a mechanic. My wife Judy knew Jon and Norma before we met. After Jon moved to Colorado Springs and then to Iowa we sort of lost track of them. My wife passed from cancer this past October leaving me alone in North Dakota where we returned back to in2001. He will be missed. Rest in peace Jon.
Jon was a real favorite of mine. He was a tremendous reporter for the sports at Don Bosco. I always told the Citizen Herald of Jesup Iowa the only reason I renewed my subscription was because of his coverage. I missed his reprting this past Winter season. I really enjoyed my visits with him and his ever present wife. The family has my sympathy and Prayers. He will be missed. Gene FrostRaymond,Iowa
Wanted the family to know I was thinking of them. We were friends back in school. I was from Newhall. JAndrea Kolsto Gibney
Jon and I started school together and not only was he was a good friend the two or three years we were in school together. In sixth grade my family moved to Mechanicsville and I once again joined him in the classroom. Although I have not seen him, I have seen Gregg on occasion and have caught up on what Jon was doing. It can be such a small world, when my granddaughter was at UNI she was in a clothing store and Jon found out where she was from and ask her if she knew me. Jon was a very outgoing person a d easy to talk too and I know he will be missed. Blessings to the family and know I care. Jo Ann Thumma Pearson, Mechanicsville
Jon was an active Chickasaw County Republican and lead our group passionately. He eloquently introduced candidates and sought out good information to share. He will be missed. Blessings to his family. Jill Eike
We met Jon Norma at a high school sporting event. We believe it was a DB football game! Jon always had a passion for covering all sports for DB and surrounding schools. They rarely missed an event; taking pictures and writing wonderful articles about the activities and the players. Even the fans at times 🙂 Since those days and over the years, Jon has always been a true friend. He is kind and intelligent man, who has always given of his wonderful self. Tom will certainly miss his talks with him. Love, hugs and prayers to Norma and family, Tom Ann Kettman
Our sympathy goes out to Jons entire family. He was such a wonderful man. My husband was the boys basketball coach for Bosco for many years. Jon was always on top of covering every game. We always appreciated all of his time but you could tell he loved it. He will be missed! Brenda Schares
Norma, I was saddened to see Johns obit in the Wloo paper. My condolences to you and the kids. Jon was always a favorite of mine, loved his sense of humor, his ready smile and his ability to jitter-bug with me at the concert. He led a full life and enjoyed it fully. Jon will be remembered for years to come by all of us. My love to you – Zoe Ann
One other thing I would like to talk about is that as opposed to trying to accommodate all your online degree courses on days and nights that you complete work (since the majority people are drained when they go back home), try to arrange most of your instructional classes on the saturdays and sundays and only a few courses for weekdays, even if it means taking some time off your saturday and sunday. This is fantastic because on the weekends, you will be more rested and concentrated with school work. Thanks a bunch for the different recommendations I have realized from your website.
