John Marvin Chandler age 69 of Nashua, died Saturday morning, December 1, 2012 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua, with Don Huff presiding.
Interment will be held at Willow Lawn Cemetery, Plainfield.
Friends may greet the family 10:00 a.m. - 11:00a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 before the service.
John was born May 26, 1943 in Charles City, IA, the son of Joseph and Goldie (Coss) Chandler. He received his education at the Plainfield High School graduating in 1962. After graduation, he entered the Air Force where he served for eight years, primarily as an accountant. After completing his time in the Air Force, he returned to the Nashua area, where he spent time on many different farms working as a laborer. He then became ill and entered permanent care at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.
Survivors include two sons, John J. (Kimberly) Chandler of Waterloo, IA, James (Tanya) Chandler of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Amanda (Brian) Glaze of Lincoln, NE; his father, Joseph Chandler of Shell Rock, IA; three brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Chandler of Minneapolis, MN, Richard Chandler of Nashua, IA, Jeffrey Chandler of Tama, IA; one sister, Joanne (Darrell) Folkerts of Waverly, IA; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie Chandler, one sister, Lois Jean Chandler, and one nephew, Todd Folkerts.
