What fond memories we have of Jack—a family man whose love and generosity went well beyond his own household. What fun it was to share in the Sloan family vacations, to tease and be teased by Jack, to watch him spar in support of his political views. He and Maggie were godparents to our oldest, Emily. They were always dependable, attentive and engaged. We share in your grief Maggie, Sharon, Diane, John and Tom. Though he’s gone, he will not be forgotten. John and Peg Maher

Maggie and family, I am so so sorry for your loss. Jack was a walking miracle to survive what he did. We joked that he was too stubborn to die. What a wonderful man. He was the best uncle, dad, brother, grandpa, husband, son. A second dad to me and so many. I still can’t believe you included us on your lake trips – what great memories. More mouths to feed, bait to put on hooks and more fish to take off and yet, you welcomed us. Loved discussing politics, teasing, laughing together. Appreciated his quick Irish wit, ready smile, great sense of humor and heart of gold. A real softie behind a tough guy exterior. A life lived fully and well. He will be dearly missed, but his influence will continue to guide us. May he rest in peace and may cherished memories help ease your greif. With deep love and appreciation, Donna Hauer
