Jeannine was born January 23, 1965, in Port Chester, NY, the only daughter of George and Darlene (Tollefsbol) Maxim. She received her education in Eden Prairie, MN, graduating from the Eden Prairie High School in 1983. Jea joined her mother in the hotel management business and then began working for Midway Airlines both in Minneapolis. On May 11, 1991, in Minneapolis, she married Al Burgart of New Hampton. To this union their son, Taylor and daughter, Riley were born. The couple later divorced but remained best of friends. Jea was the Director of New Horizons-Chamber in New Hampton for many years.
Jea was great at hosting Burgart slumber parties, gardening and cooking. She had a special relationship with her brother, step-brothers and step-sister and loved time spent with them as well. She loved family get-togethers, mostly the card game ‘3 and 13’, which was a family favorite. Jea was a wonderful, devoted mother and the time spent with her children was what she cherished the most.

Jea hired our band, ‘Major Healey’ for many events in New Hampton. She did more than just hire us, she became a wonderful friend of the band. Her smile and cheery personality was something we always looked forward to when we came to New Hampton. She will be missed by many and our prayers go out to her family and friends, and everyone she touched along the way.

You are all in our thoughts and prays. I will always remember all the times spent over to the river. We had a camper right next to her and Al. Good times.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Jea’s family. You had a mother, daughter, and sister who was very special to many people. Her smile, her enthusiasm for all that she did, her enjoyment of gardening, her creativity, her loving and caring attitude–all things that have created memories that we can hold in our hearts forever. We can take comfort knowing that Jea is at peace now and in the loving hands of our Creator. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jeannine’s passing. She was always so much frun to be around and was the driving force during both of the New Hampton–Iowa Proud series we aired on KWWL-TV in recent years. She invited me to speak at the New Horizons awards banquet on a couple of occasions and that was a great treat, too. Condolences to Jeannine’s family and to everyone in New Hampton. Her death is a great loss for all.

We are so very sorry to hear this sad news. Jeannine held a special place in our hearts as a warrior against the same abhorrent disease that we battle. We will always remember the wonderful evening we spent at the NH Country Club to honor this incredible woman. Love and prayers to her family.

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Jeannine. She is finally at her eternal resting place where she will longer have to suffer. She was always such a gracious person when she came to the pharmacy and never complained about what she was going through. My deepest thoughts are with all of her family. I know this must be terribly hard for all of you. Keep her memories close to you at this difficult time – remember the happy times that you spent together – this will help ease your pain. God bless you all.
