Jane was a proud leap year baby, born February 29th, 1936 near Dows, Iowa and graduated high school from Waterloo West. She was the youngest of seven children born to Harry Fredrick Larsson and Iris Opal (Tuel) Larsson.
Jane was wed to Harry T. Sorensen on April 16th, 1954 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Since 1969, they made Protivin their home. They were married for 48 years at the time of Harry’s death in 2003. To this union six children were born; ZoAnn, Ted, Gregory, Cindy, Malinda and Chad.
Jane was the Director of Housekeeping at the at the Howard County Hospital for years following jobs at Turkey Valley Community School and Bishops in Waterloo.
Jane was a devoted member of Crane Creek Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Kountry Kitchen Klub. She loved her many dogs over the years, camping with Harry, making fried chicken for a house full of family, and rumor has it, an occasional trip to the riverboat. Jane had a knack for striking up a conversation with anyone she came across and was always in the corner of the underdog. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
Jane is survived by her six children; ZoAnn Bear (John) from New Hampton, Iowa, Ted A. Sorensen (Laurie) from New Hampton, Iowa, Gregory L. Sorensen (Sondra) from Sandy, Utah, Cindy J. Lenehan (Robert) from Alta Vista, Iowa, Malinda J. Horkheimer (Chip) from Hazleton, Iowa and Chad F. Sorensen (Ellen) from Kasson, Minnesota. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Flora Specht from Danville, Iowa and Donna Ross from Mazeppa, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers, Harry Larsson Jr., Craig Larsson, and Gene Larsson; one sister, Bonnie Judson.

The entire Rosonke and Halvorson families are so sorry for your loss. We have known your mom and the rest of you for so many years and she was truly a wonderful lady and a great friend to all of us. I know she missed Harry and everyone so much and we are so happy she is now reunited with all of them. We will miss her.
My sincere sympathy to the Sorensen family.
So sorry to hear about your mom, she was truly special and have tons of memories of her and your family over the years. She will certainly be missed. Hugs to all of you
So sorry, I always enjoyed her. my sympathies to the whole family.
To Zo, Teddy, Greg, Cindy, Chad, Melinda, It fills me with sadness hearing that your Mom has passed, it is never easy. She was such a special person and will always hold a special place in my heart. Aside from growing up as family friends, I had the pleasure of many enjoyable conversations over the years mostly on the trips to and from the boat where your Mom spoke of her friendship with our Mom when they were young and running wild. Memories I will never forget. I do take some comfort from my belief that those who pass to heaven are no longer afflicted with the disease that they had here on earth. So, my belief is that your Mom and Dad are reunited, along with my Mom and Dad and so many other dear friends and are back to running wild and free. With much love, she will always be remembered.
Deepest sympathy to you all.
Zo,John and the Sorensen Family, so sorry to hear about Jane’s passing. Let the happy memories carry you through these next difficult days. I’m sure Harry is waiting with open arms along with all the friends and family that have gone on before her. Thinking of you all. Leo and Bev Dowd

Zo, Ted, Greg, Cindy, Malinda and Chad, I’m so very sorry for the loss of your mom. I’m just now finding out about her passing. I pray that you’ve all been able to find some peace in your hearts since her passing and know that she’s in a better place with Uncle Harry, Gma Bonnie & the rest of her family, watching over all of us. I will definitely miss Aunt Jane or Gma, as she told my girls & myself we could call her, when Gma Bonnie passed, knowing how much we missed Gma Bonnie & how much Aunt Jane reminded us of her. I will miss the long phone calls with her the most. We’d spend 1-2 hours just chatting away about anything and everything. I will cherish each memory & each conversation I had with her forever! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. Love Brandi (Judson) Winters
