Born on August 30, 1937 to William & Martha (Younker) Mahoney, in the same town she would lovingly call home for the entirety of her life.
Jane’s journey began as a bright-eyed girl in Nashua, where she attended and graduated from Nashua High School. Her passion for learning and growth led her to further her education, obtaining both a Real Estate License and a Broker License. This education paved the way for her successful career in real estate, where she made a significant impact on the community she so cherished.
In 1957, Jack Eckenrod would drive her home after their evening shift at St. Michael’s Fair Stand. Her life was forever changed and they married the following spring at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Nashua on April 25, 1957. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared passions.
Jane’s love for her community was evident in her involvement with the group that built the country club in Nashua, a testament to her dedication to creating spaces for joy and togetherness. Her interests were as vibrant and varied as her personality. An avid curler, Jane found camaraderie and competition on the ice. Her artistic soul found expression in oil painting, capturing the beauty of the world as she saw it.
A social butterfly, Jane cherished playing cards with friends and engaging in lively conversations. Her love for plants was more than a hobby; it was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Jane pickled everything she could, a nod to her resourcefulness and love for culinary adventures. Traveling with her family brought her immense joy, with memorable trips with Jack and their best friends.
Those who knew Jane would describe her as kind, courageous, and passionate. She approached life with a sense of purpose and a desire to make a positive impact on those around her. Her legacy is one of love, commitment, and a zest for life that inspired all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Jane’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, yet they take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to inspire them. As they reflect on her life, they will remember a woman who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the world.
Jane is survived by her daughter Jill (Todd) Eckenrod-Meyer of Waterloo; brother Bill (Janice) Mahoney of Mason City; sister-in-law JoAnn Demro of Nashua; grandchildren: Jordyn Williams of Tampa, FL, Jacob Meyer of Kansas City, MO, Dylan Meyer of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kaitlyn and Camryn Meyer of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents William & Martha (Younker) Mahoney; husband Jack Eckenrod; sister Kay Connor; brother-in-laws: Al Connor and Floyd Demro.

Thank you for the sensible critique. Me & my neighbor were just preparing to do a little research on this. We got a grab a book from our local library but I think I learned more from this post. I am very glad to see such wonderful information being shared freely out there.

I am only commenting to let you be aware of of the beneficial encounter my cousin’s daughter developed going through your web page. She learned lots of issues, which included how it is like to have a very effective coaching style to have the rest smoothly have an understanding of chosen problematic matters. You truly exceeded readers’ expected results. Many thanks for churning out the powerful, trustworthy, revealing and even fun tips on that topic to Tanya.
Thoughts and prayers for the family of Jane Eckenrod. So sorry for your loss.
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
Jill and family so sorry to hear of the sad news. Mom and your mom were such good friends and Jane always asked how mom was when she was sick. She was such a wonderful person. Sending our condolences to you and your family. God Bless and take care.

Prayers to you Jill and your family your mom was a real sweetheart. I will miss her dearly.
My deepest sympathies to the family of Jane. She was always bubbly and smiling and calling you Dolly! I remember her coming to my mother Karen and aunt carolyn’s store on main street in nashua. She will be missed.
In the time I did get with Jane when she was in Bartels, she was always a joy but we can all rest easy knowing that she is in a better place. I was a DA at Bartels when she was there and the best part of my day was seeing her and having a conversation with her. When I left for a trip for a week and came back I couldn’t believe the news I was in disbelief until I had to ready the last hospitality cart for her. I saw it for myself she was ready but we were not. I am sorry for your loss Jill sincerely.
I will miss Jane, her and I would visit after I install or removed her dock from the lake. She always had stories to share. I always looked forward to coming to Nashua.
Thank you Jane, miss you.
I will cherish the day Mom and I stopped in to visit Jane. Such a caring loving person. I’m going to miss my visits with her
