James "Jim" Barnett

James “Jim” Barnett age 75 of New Hampton died Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Rehabilitation Center of Hampton in Hampton, IA.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024 at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton.

Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Hampton.

Jim was a treasured uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He was a soft-spoken, kind and caring person. Jim loved his parents dearly, so much so that he will be buried along with his loving mother. He loved taking care of his parents and was a companion and care giver to them until they passed away. His gentle, sincere smile will be fondly remembered by all of us who were blessed to have known him.

Jim is survived by his sister, Sherri (Barnett) Blazek of New Hampton, sister-in-Law, Stephanie Barnett of Des Moines; six nieces and nephews, Scott Schulz, Lisa (Schulz) Peterson, Jason Schulz, Kathleen (Blazek) Bonthius, Dave Goodwin, Annie (Barnett) Kincaid and Katie (Barnett) Deimerly; many great nieces and nephews; a few great-great nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Evelyn (Doyle) Barnett; two brother Patrick Barnett, Denny Barnett; one sister, Peggy (Richard) Schulz; brother-in-law Michael Blazek; Nieces, Shawna Smith, Kristin Blazek and Kimberly Schulz; nephew Tony Blazek.
