Helen H. Lillich, 95, of Waterloo formerly of Waverly died Friday evening at Manor Care Center in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral home in Nashua with Nate Frazee officiating. Janice Fritcher will the organist.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City with Lavern Graeser, Roger White, Larry White, Art Mehmen and Ron Mehmen serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to: Iowa Hospice, 2101 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, IA 50702.
Helen Henrietta Lillich was born May 15, 1913 at Denver, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Elsa (Miller) Graeser. She attended rural schools through the eighth grade.
She was united in marriage to Harry Lillich at Sioux City in 1940. They lived in Chicago, Kansas City, Davenport and later in Waverly. Harry passed away in January of 1979. Helen moved to Manor Care in Waterloo in March of 2003. Helen was a hard working housewife. She enjoyed gardening and canning all the fruits and vegetables she raised. She also enjoyed antique collecting. Helen was a member of Waverly United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by two brothers, Merle (Violet) Graeser of Plainfield and Leonard (Shirley) Graeser of Waverly; three sisters, Florence Roberts of Batesville, Ark, Margaret (Vern) Jensen and Jeanette (Roger) White all of Waverly; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers, Elmer and Gilbert Graeser; one sister, Laura Powell.
Grandma, our lives have been blessed to have shared them with you. You will be missed but will remain forever in our hearts. We love you!
