Helen Bonfig

Helen C. Bonfig, age 96 of Ionia, IA died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at New Hampton Care Center.Helen Catherine Bonfig was born on August 25, 1912 to Joseph and Mary (Zeien) Hillsman in North Washington, IA. She attended school in North Washington and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Elma. Helen worked as a nanny in California until she was united in marriage to Evroul Bonfig on January 5, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA. She and Evroul operated Bonfigs Tavern and Caf at Ionia for 30 years. Helen also volunteered at the Charles City Hospital as a Pink Lady and at St. Boniface Bingo for many years.
Helen enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She also greatly enjoyed her grand and great grandchildren coming to visit. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, St. Boniface Guild, and the Jolly 15 Ladies Club.
Helen is survived by her three sons Dan (MaryAnn) Bonfig of Cottonwood, AZ, Dick (Debbie) Bonfig, and Dave (Karen) Bonfig of Ionia, IA; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother Edward Hillsman of Waterloo, IA; and a niece she helped raise, Wilma Schnurr of Mason City, IA.
She is preceded in death by her husband Evroul; her parents; eight brothers Irvin, Ray, Ralph, Frank, Art, Vincent, and infant brothers John and Joe; four sisters Ann Heit, Alice White, Louise Hilsman, and Wilhemina Hilsman.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery at Ionia, Iowa, with Craig, E.J., Mike, Aaron, Chris, and B.J. Bonfig serving as casket bearers. Interment will be at a later date.
Visitation:
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Ionia Funeral Home in Ionia with a scriptural wake service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home in Ionia.
Service:
Mass of Christian burial will be at10:30 am on Monday, April 20, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, in Ionia, Iowa with Msgr. Carl Schmitt as celebrant.

My sympathy to the family. I was acquainted with Dick and Dave, years ago. I worked with Dick when the Oliver plant was operating. I just lost my brother last week.

The very core of your writing while appearing reasonable initially, did not really settle properly with me after some time. Someplace within the sentences you actually were able to make me a believer but just for a while. I still have got a problem with your jumps in assumptions and you would do well to help fill in all those breaks. When you can accomplish that, I would definitely be fascinated.
