Glenda Blackwell

Glenda Sue Thomas-Blackwell, age 59 of New Hampton, IA passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Glenda Sue Thomas Blackwell was born on July 30, 1954 in Madera, CA to Willard and Mattie (Rogers) Thomas. She graduated from Madera High School. Glenda later moved to New Hampton, IA where she owned Mrs. Blackwell's Antiques for several years. Glenda enjoyed fishing, spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and writing stories. Glenda is survived by her children Phillip (Summer Herman) Thomas of New Hampton and Jerrod (Nikki) Blackwell of Alta Vista, IA; grandchildren Cassie Short, Hailey Thomas, Kallie Thomas, Knox Thomas and Annala Elliott; sister Carol Terry of Madera, CA and brother James (Darlene) Thomas of Madera, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents.
