Geraldine M. Morris age 65 of Lawler, formerly of New Hampton died Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home, New Hampton, with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Interment will be in the New Hampton City Cemetery with Shaun Schwickerath, John Jepperson, Joshua Jepperson, Randy Lepa, Derek Hanson and Thomas Hanson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Stacy Trower, Samantha Schwickerath, Shannon Schwickerath, Johnelle Jepperson, Sierra Morris, Michaela Schwickerath, Preston Trower, Addison Trower and Kamdyn Trower. Friends may greet the family 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Geraldine Marie Morris was born November 13, 1946, in Fredericksburg, IA, the daughter of Howard Arnold and Beulah Marie (Moody) Slick. On April 4, 1963, at her parents home in Fredericksburg, she married Duane Morris. To this union eight children were born. Geraldine was a mother and caretaker for her family and enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved being outdoors and caring for her cats. Survivors include her husband, Duane of Lawler, two daughters, Sheila Schwickerath (Randy Lepa) of Ionia; Glenda Samuelson of Medford, WI; four sons, Tracy (Julie Voves) Morris, Tony Morris, Shane Morris and Shaun Morris all of Lawler; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Slick of Ionia; Darwin “Butch” (Idella) Slick of Sumner; one sister, Glenis (Robert) Leach of LaPorte City, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons; Troy Morris and Tommy Morris; one granddaughter, Ellen Marie Jepperson
