George Patrick Agnitsch, age 78, passed away on April 26, 2026.

A private family service will take place.

George was born on July 25, 1947, in Clarkfield, Minnesota, to Cletus and Bonnie (White) Agnitsch. He grew up surrounded by family and carried those values with him throughout his life.

On March 27, 1965, George was united in marriage to the love of his life, Barbara Fisher. Together they built a life centered on family, resilience, and dedication. Shortly after marrying, George answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army in 1965. He proudly served two years in Vietnam, an experience that shaped his strength and camaraderie, and remained a source of pride throughout his life.

George wore many hats over the years, never afraid of hard work. His career included time as an Armory Manager, Hampton Police Officer, and Franklin County Deputy. He also worked for Derby Oil Company, managed the Jack and Jill grocery store in New Hampton, and spent years in construction and welding. His work ethic and adaptability were evident in every role he took on.

In his earlier years, George moved his family frequently before settling back in Nashua in 1978, where he put down roots and built lasting connections. He was a proud and active member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, eventually retiring from the group but always cherishing the brotherhood it provided.

George’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his children: Dawn (Ron) Garbes, Shelly (Tom) Johnson, and Jason (Carey) Agnitsch; grandchildren: Raychel (Trevor) Ronnei, Dan (Sarah) Garbes, Emily (Ryan) Fisher, Jake (Jenna) Johnson, Spencer (John) Kleitsch, Ian (Aliyah) Johnson, Nicole (Grady) Wayne, Wayinn (Joe) Harrah, Zeke (Kylee) Rosenbaum, Tori Rosenbaum, Jaden Jost, and Jasmyn Jost; as well as 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Margaret (Peg) Berens, Nancy Agnitsch, Tom (Vickie) Agnitsch, and Brian (Kerry) Agnitsch.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Barbara; his parents, Cletus and Bonnie; his brother, David Agnitsch; and his sister, Mary Licht.
