Frances Darlene was born July 20, 1931, the daughter of Irving and Bertha (Wendt) Nehls. She received her education in Charles City, and later became a certified nurses aide.
On January 5, 1949, Frances was united in marriage to Richard Scoles at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union, five children were born. The couple lived in Charles City before moving to Nashua. Frances was active with the St. John Lutheran Church women and was a member of OPTA. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, cooking, camping and fishing. Frances enjoyed getting together with family, where there was almost always a card game. Her grandkids will remember her for their regular trips to the river in Charles City to feed the ducks.
Frances is survived by two sons, Thomas (Julie) Scoles of Nashua, and Richard Scoles of Nashua; three daughters, Margie Dutka of Fredericksburg, Debra Tonn of Nashua, and Jackie (Bill) Wadey of Greene; two sisters, Jean Moore of California, and Carol Downing of Charles City; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Richard in 2006; two brothers, George Nehls, and Robert Nehls; a grandson in infancy, Brett Scoles; and a son-in-law, Michael Tonn.
We wish to extend our sympathy to Deb and the rest of Frances’ family. It’s been over 20 some years ago that we seen Frances but we still remember the good times.
We wish to extend our sympathy to Bill and Jackie and the rest of the family. Sincerely Dan and Carol
