Eva Hill

Eva A. Hill, age 99 of New Hampton, Iowa died Wednesday afternoon, December 24, 2008, at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services are 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2008, at the United Methodist Church, New Hampton with Pastor Marshall Monthei officiating. Jean Swenson will be the organist accompanying Pete & Phyllis Willadsen singing 'Going Home', 'The Lord's Prayer' and 'In The Garden'.
Interment will be in the New Hampton City Cemetery with Brandon Cox, Joseph Radcliffe, Gary Debner, Jim Cox, Ben Burton and Jim Wheeler as pallbearers.
Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Eva Alberta Hill was born December 1, 1909, in Tripoli, IA, the daughter of John August and Gertrude Elnora (Young) Holmes. She received her education in Tripoli and was a 1926 graduate of the Tripoli High School. On February 26, 1928, in Janesville, IA, she married William Hill. To this union two children were born. Eva and her husband founded Bill Hill Truck Line in which she was a partner until 1990. Eva loved time in her flower garden and cooking. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Mary circle.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Eleanor) Hill; one daughter, Lois (Larry) Straw all of New Hampton; six grandchildren, Tammy Straw, Tracy Straw, Christine Radcliffe, Mary Jo Debner, Jean Ann Cox and Margaret Ann Burton; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 20, 1962; one brother, John 'Bert' Holmes; one sister, Jessie Mae Holmes.
