Elaine M. Gundacker, age 76 of New Hampton, IA died on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at her home near Cass Lake, MN. Elaine M. Gundacker was born on June 11, 1933 in New Hampton, the daughter of Alvin and Myra Timm. She attended New Hampton High School, graduating in 1951. Elaine married Harry P. Gundacker on August 8, 1969. She was part owner of Horseshoe Resort near Cass Lake, MN, with her son Clark Heitmann. Prior to resort ownership, Elaine worked in city government for a number of cities which included New Hampton, Oelwein, Marshalltown, and Geneso, IL. Elaine also was employed with Iowa League of Municipalities, and Stone Ford. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and fishing. Elaine said shed rather fish than eat and her happiest times in life were spent with her grandchildren. Elaine is survived by three sons, Clark Heitmann of Cass Lake, MN, Kurt Gundacker and his wife Rita of Rosemount, MN, Erik Gundacker and his wife Rose of Rosemount, MN; two daughters, Constance King and her husband Greg of Davenport, IA, and Jenifer Britton and her husband David Eichacker of Lake Havasu, AZ; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Pacovsky of New Hampton. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry in July of 1999; and one daughter, Kristin Gundacker. Cemetery: Burial will take place at New Hampton Cemetery with Mike Kennedy, Phil French, Stuart Stone, Norman Cole, Sue North, Linda Bendixen, Reba Donahue, Shirley McConnel, Lorna Eaton, Jeff Pacovsky, Nancy Schlindwein, Marty Blocker and Michael Pacovsky serving as honorary casket bearers. Matt Heitmann, Zachary King, Justin King, Craig Gundacker, Joshua Stearns, and Tom Riley will serve as active casket bearers. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Service: Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in New Hampton, IA with Reverend Kevin Frey officiating.

  1. Clark, sorry to hear of your mothers passing away. She was a very neat and kind lady. Jessica will miss her dearly.   7. Clark and Connie Sorry to hear about your Mothers death. Elaine and my Mother Bernice Shaw were good friends. I even got to baby sit you two when you lived out on the farm South West of New Hampton. (long time ago ) Thanks to Lorna Eaton I found out about this , I live in Aberdeen S.Dak.
