EDNA M. FOUNTAIN 98 of Jefferson passed away on Friday January 31, 2014 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek. She was born on January 23, 1916 in Howard County, Iowa. Daughter of the late Louis and Bertha (Laue) Deterding. She married George Fountain on August 19, 1936; he preceded her in death in 1985 Edna was a homemaker most of her life, and she and her husband farmed in the Howard County area for many years. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson; Edna enjoyed making quilts with the Women's Fellowship Dorcus Circle. She will be deeply missed by her family, daughter Lois (Marvin) Kirchner of Jefferson Grandchildren; Ruth (Don) Wiesmann of Cypress Texas, Nathan Kirchner of Wauwatosa, Mary (Dan) Springer of Jefferson, great grandchildren; Lindsay, Scott Wiesmann, Nicholas, Erin Kirchner, Dr. Mitchell (fianc Tzvia Cuperman) Springer, Nicole Springer Sister in law; Mary Deterding of Elma Iowa, She is also preceded in death by her sister; Marie Stevenson, and brother; Henry Deterding. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday February 5, 2014 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Jefferson with the Rev. Janette Thorp officiating. Burial will be in the Howard County Cemetery in Elma Iowa. Visitation will be held at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
