Earl Boos

Earl C. Boos, age 83, of New Hampton, IA, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Earl Clinton Boos was born on December 18, 1925, in rural New Hampton, IA, son of Samuel V. and Justina (Walentiny) Boos. Earl graduated from New Hampton High School in 1942. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, rural Waverly, IA, on June 19, 1953. Earl was united in marriage to Geraldine C. Zander on July 12, 1953 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church rural Waverly, IA. He retired from a lifetime of farming in 2001. He was also employed by the United States Postal Service in Waterloo and New Hampton, retiring in 1982 after 31years. Earl enjoyed his life as a farmer and postal worker. He especially enjoyed outings with his family.
Earl is survived by his wife, Geraldine; two daughters, Candis Kaye (Brian) Smith and Joy Lynnette (Kenneth) Clark, all of Waterloo; two granddaughters, Nicole Eniko Smith and Haley Ann Clark, also of Waterloo; one step-granddaughter, Jenna Clark of Ames, IA; two sisters, Lorraine Eiler of New Hampton, Colletta Stenzel Buss of Woodbury, MN, and one brother, Robert D. Boos of New Hampton.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Arlene Denner; four brothers-in-law, William Denner, Leonard Eiler, Roger Stenzel, and Tony Buss; one sister-in-law Rita Boos.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in the New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton with Samuel J.Boos, Andrew Boos, Robert S. Boos, Christopher Boos, Matthew Boos, and Dan Mueller serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Richard Schwickerath, Vincent Lensing, Richard Helling, Leo Kuehn, Robert Gebel, and Jerome Kuhn.
Visitation:
Visitation will be from 3PM-7PM on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton, and will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Service:
Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Chapel in New Hampton, with Reverend Kevin Frey officiating.

You guys are all in my hearts and prayers. Ive always considered you as part of my family. I have fond memories of the time I spent with Earl. I picture him sitting in his lawn chair outside with a gun waiting for a groundhog to pop his head up. I doubt there are many polititions in heaven to pick on so he should have plenty of time to watch over us. I hope you dont mind the humor a little as it helped me get through the last few months myself. I learned alot from Earl in our weekend and holiday chats and will miss him. I will miss our little bickering back and forth about me sending you a bill for snow removal. I will cherish those more than i can say. i will never forget your final words to me, and i feel the same about you. Geraldine please dont hesitate to ever call when the need arises.I will be thinking of you.
Dad-I miss you so much. Every day I think of you and what a wonderful, caring and loving man and father you were. You gave of yourself to help anyone who needed it, and you asked for nothing in return. I miss that twinkle in your eye that you would get when you smiled. I miss not being able to ask for your opinion about something (even though I might not want to hear it). Haley said she didnt know who she would get to say her special good-bye to now. She loved you so much. And Kenny-he has some very special memories of you, too. You were like his 2nd father. You were so smart and could do anything-as Haley would say-“Papa can fix it”. I hope I didnt disappoint you too much. I will do my best to make you proud of me now. I miss you and love you more than anyone will ever know. Until we meet againYour loving daughter, Joy.
