Dwayne was born on Feb. 12, 1967 and raised by his adopted parents in Charleston, South Carolina, where he attended school and graduated from high in 1985. After graduation, he attended Trident Tech College in South Carolina and then began a long career as a forklift driver.
Dwayne met the love of his life, Janet Davis, and the two were married on June 22, 2001, in Charleston, where they lived and worked until five months ago when they moved to New Hampton to be closer to family.
He was the father of two, Michael and Jennifer, and he also had two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He had a particularly close relationship with grandson Justin Hajek, and they loved to get together and head to the bowling alley, find a place to fish or go out and have a few drinks.
Dwayne loved to joke around and anyone who knew him knew that special brand of Dwayne sarcasm! And you couldn’t find a bigger Clemson Tigers’ football fan than him. He lived and died with the orange, he named his dog “Dabo” in honor of the Clemson coach and he loved to tell the story about meeting quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Those who knew Dwayne will tell you that he is gone much too soon, but we’re sure he’s cracking jokes and delivering his sarcasm in a far better place today.
Dwayne is survived by his wife of almost 23 years, Janet of New Hampton; his daughter, Jennifer (Jeremy) Clark of New Hampton; two grandsons, Justin (McKenzie) Hajek of Alta Vista, and Michael (Brittany) Hajek of Charleston; two great-grandchildren, Nova Hajek and Kaiden Hajek; his father-in-law, Frank Davis of Charleston; and his best friend, Kevin Theil of Charleston.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Ryker, and his mother-in-law, Kathleen Davis.
