  1. Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Services created a video in memory of Dr. James Charles Carr

  2. MaryKay and family, Tom and I are so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. We just found out yesterday, July 26, and can hardly believe it. We had so much fun with the two of you in Italy, in 2006, and have been emailing and sending jokes to you ever since. I just sent an email about 2 or 3 weeks ago reminding you to stop by on your way to Detroit Lakes and never got an answer. I knew something was going on, but what? My son and I did a search on google and found out about Jim. I want you to know that all our love and blessings are sent to you and we will keep our cherished memories of our Italy trip forever. Love, Tom and Dolly from Minnesota

  3. Many years ago I asked Jim when middle age started and he wittingly responded, ‘5 years older than me.’ Jim was a peoples’ Doctor with the ability to make you feel better by just visiting. His optimism and wit was inspiring. His compassion for people was obvious. We just returned from Colorado and were deeply saddened by the news. New Hampton lost a real gem and we will all miss him. Dan & Kathy Feuling

  4. Jim was a special citizen and care provider. He was truly a pillar of the community, long respected by all . His love of community and family was very evident. He will be sorely missed.

  6. Mary Kay and family, I was saddened to hear of Dr. Carr’s death. He was a special man. I have many fond memories of growing up as neighbors. N.H. has lost a beloved friend and Dr. Ellen Moetsch

  7. Please accept my condolences. Sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of our high school wrestling days. Jim Deutsch

I will hold you close in thought and prayer through this sad time. Kathryn (Lunemann) Liesemeyer

  13. My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Dr James Carr. My mom loved Dr Carr as our family doctor; i do agree, he was the best! Let the memories get you all though this difficult time. Dr Barb Boeing and family, my daughter shared with me her memory of Dr Carr as a young girl when we scheduled an office visit. It made me laugh, Barb, I will share with you the next time I see you. Heaven gained an awesome Angel! My prayers and hugs are being sent to all of you.

  15. Our sympathy to you , Mary Kay and your family. Our friendship goes way back to high school and we all have many memories. Jim was a very special man and doctor. Two of his patients were Duanes mother and my Dad neither of which liked to go to the clinic so he made ‘house calls’ which was so kind. He will also be remembered for his smile and great sense of humor. Cherish all your memories.

  16. I was very saddened by the news of Jim’s death. For some unknown reason he has been in my mind lately. He was a good friend during our high school days and I remember the parties we shared in at his parent’s farm during our college days. We connected a few times within the last couple years following our 55th high school reunion in 2011. I offer my deepest sympathy to Mary Kay who was also a classmate and all of their family. Peace to all. Sr. Kay Forkenbrock

  17. So very sorry for your loss! Jimmy was a special person with healing hands and a heart of gold. We will remember him.

  18. Mary Kay and family. I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Carr’s passing. I will always be grateful to him for being the medical director while I had the privilege of serving the resident of Chickasaw County for several years. I learned so much from him and I shall always remember how he would share his medical knowledge with all of us. Even thought I no longer work as a paramedic I still work in the medical field after all these years and his knowledge is with me each and every day. God has a special place ready for you.

  20. I know very well the shock of losing the one you love so much suddenly and unexpectedly, after Jacque’s death 2 1/2 years ago. You and your family will be in my prayers during this time of shock and loss and the coming months, years. Dr. Jim was part of our family’s life from school years through when we moved to Florida over 33 years ago. He was a hero on many levels and will leave a space that won’t be filled.

  21. Carr Family, So sorry to hear of Doc’s passing, and sorry I cannot make it back this weekend. 22. Dr Carr and the Carr family have a special place in our family. We still remember how he used a black marker to draw on our Anna’s eye lid before he stitched her. 30. Jim was indeed a great wrestler. While in the Nu Sig house in Iowa City, he was challenged to an informal match by a classmate, much larger than Jim himself. Jim had his ‘opponent’ on his back in the blink of an eye. He, of course, was much more than that. A great doctor and friend over the many years since leaving Iowa City after graduation in 1965. The annual get togethers of our Nu Sig classmates were always highlights of the year. What a privilege to have been able to continue that tradition for 50 wonderful years..Dr. Don Kahle

  31. Our sincere sympathy to the family of Doc Carr. He was a great doctor and was there for the delivery for two of our three sons. 38. My sincere sympathy to the Carr family – Dr. Jim was a good man and will be missed by many. May he rest in peace.

  39. Jimmy Carr was one of the nicest, most genuine, humble, caring and loving human beings I’ve ever met. He was genuinely a kind hearted person who would give and give and give. And funny! I have so many memories of laughter (the uncontrollable kind!) in the fishing boat, at the end of the day happy hour, at various weddings/events/etc – his heart was full of laughter and fun. It seems we got short changed only having him for 77 years – it’s not long enough. We will have many, many stories to recant as we continue our ‘Father-Son’ fishing trip next week and I know that Doc will be with us on this journey – and he will be our ‘quarterback’ as we continue on our walk through life. And although we are feeling incredible pain now as we say goodbye, we rejoice in knowing that he’s smiling down on us now (and yes, I’m feeling the smile and twinkle in his eye now as I write this!) from heaven and reunited with all of our past loved ones – and that our ‘goodbye’ is only short term and it’s better said ‘until we see you again, Jimmy’!!! We love you Jim! Mary Kay, Bobbie/Pegster, Daver/Liz, Barb/Dave, Jane/Joe, Suzie/Doug and all your families – I know that you know the impact your husband/father/grandfather had on all of us. He touched so many of us as ‘circle of love’ was amazingly extensive. Thank you for sharing him as you did and my sincere condolences to you all in this tough time. You’re all in our thoughts and prayers.

  41. Jim was a wonderful man and one of a kind. I will remember him as hard working, bright, fun loving, devoted and generous. He was the man who mended my broken risk when I was in high school. He and Mary Kay shared their home with me when I had none. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. I’m happy he had such a long, productive life and happy for the wonderful family he left behind. He will be dearly missed by all. Our thoughts are with Mary Kay and the rest of the Carr family.

  42. To the entire family….Tom and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy in your sudden loss….we knew Jim as a neighbor with a great group of kids in our neighborhood, I knew him from the FSA office with family farm dealings, but most of all as being a huge part of the New Hampton Chickasaw wrestling tradition….not only in history with his own personal accomplishments, but as a proud parent, grandparent and fan! Mary Kay and Jim would share with us how their other grandkids were doing while we were watching Drew and the NH team…..we will miss him next year in the stands but he will be watching and cheering from a heavenly front row seat…

  43. Will NEVER forget the time Jim and I went squirrel hunting! Saw a side of him that morning I never knew existed. A great man. A great Doctor. One of kind that is not found very often.
