Doyle Edward Ramsey, age 67 of Nashua, Iowa died Monday, January 1, 2024 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waverly, IA (2001 W Bremer Ave) on Friday, January 26th at 4 p.m. Visitation will be immediately prior to the service starting at 2 p.m. at the church. Doyle E. Ramsey, 67, of Nashua, Iowa died from cancer on January 1, 2024, in his residence surrounded by family. Doyle Edward Ramsey was born on February 10, 1956, the son of Edward and Lucy (Clewell) Ramsey in Waverly, IA. Doyle attended school in Waverly and graduated from Bremwood Lutheran Services in Waverly. He attended Lutheran services as a child. Following his schooling, Doyle got a technical certificate in welding. He spent a few years doing car detailing while living in Houston, Texas before moving back to Iowa and starting a family. On October 18, 1996, he married Sharon (Hinders) Ramsey at Cronin, Skilton & Skilton Law Office in Nashua. He was employed by Gary Rowe Sanitation, then IBP, and spent several years at Featherlite before retiring.
An enthusiastic lover of wrestling, fishing, and cheering on the Vikings, Doyle was most proud of being a devoted husband and father. He was also an avid lover of American muscle cars with a special love for a blue, pinstriped ‘69 Camaro Z/28 RS.
Doyle is survived by his wife Sharon of Nashua; children Amy (Jack) Ward, Jeffrey Ramsey, Kyle (Skyler) Ramsey, Jared (Gabby) Ramsey; grandchildren Katlynn (Tyler), Christina, Tyler, Xavier, Sebastian; great-grandchildren Gabriel, Rosa,Emmerson; sister Shirley Ramsey; brother- and sister-in-laws Marlin, John, Mary; nieces and nephews Melissa, Mikael, Sharlene, Jeremy, Jill; and great nieces and nephews Casey, Jonathan, and Kaleb among others. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Jay Wilburt and sister-in-law Mary and brother-in-laws Doug and Jerry.

Doyle is legendary!! Always been a favorite uncle of mine! His name for me was Mouth…like he had a lot of room to talk there! 🙂
He will be missed but never forgotten!!

I still remember Doyle playing Mahatma Gandhi in a school play. That photo brings back memories. RIP.
Doyle and I go back to high school, we became friends and he forever called me “birdman”. Why is between Doyle and myself, RIP young man, you deserve it.
