  2. I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to you. I know the pain of a broken heart. Our Heavenly Father feels our pain. Psalms 34:18 assures us that He is near to those broken at heart. He does, however, hold out a promise that in the very near future He will wipe out all tears of sorrow and pain from our eyes and death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3-5) He also promises to remember all those in the memorial tombs (graves) and restore them to life. (John 5:28,29) Until those words are fulfilled, may you find much peace and comfort in God and in His promises found in the Holy Scriptures.

  3. I did not know Doug for that long, but I always enjoyed talking to him. He was a great man and I am sure that he is happy to be reunited with his wife who I never met, but know that she meant the world to him.

  4. We were so sorry to hear about Doug’s passing. When he moved in next to Dad at The Willows in Fredericksburg, we were able to visit once in a while. He was so proud to show off his pictures of his family. He and Dad seemed to enjoy visiting and touring the countryside once in a while. I could tell how much he loved and missed Marian. I’m sure they are so happy to be together again. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you! Christie (Brandenburg) Schmitt

  5. To all of the Sowers Children I was so sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing. So hard to lose your Dad I know. I am your Mom’s cousin Mary Lou and you might remember our Sunday drives to visit your family when we were growing up. My Dad and Mom were Grace and Glen Jeffries. I always remember what a fun and loving group you were. I never wanted to leave when it was time to go! Thinking of you Mary Lou Jeffries Carlson

  6. We have many wonderful memories of the Sowers Frederika years, family, and 4-H activities. Our mom Hazel and Doug were avid Scrabble competitors!! In more recent years, we’ve enjoyed chatting with Doug on numerous occasions as we met with our rental pasture adjoining his land–sometimes chasing errant cattle back where they belonged. Cherish all the great memories of your mom and dad. With sincere sympathy, Gaylord and Vicky (Burrow) Converse
