Dorothy Mae 'Doddie' age 61 of Mason City died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at her home.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell, IA with in informal Celebration of Life to follow at the Mitchell Park.
Dorothy Mae 'Doddie' Mayer was born December 10, 1951, in Osage, IA, the daughter of Hugh and Erma (Miller) Weldin. She received her education in Mitchell, Iowa. Her two daughters, Chasity and Holli were the love of her life who will remember their mother as someone who had a big heart and was always the life of the crowd. Doddie was always willing to lend anyone a helping hand. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known to tell a good story. She was loved by many and could bring a smile to all.
Survivors include two daughters, Chasity (Dan) Huber of Osage, Holli Vest of Sierra Vista, AZ; five grandchildren, Megan Johanns, Jared Johanns, Kyra Johanns, Reahanna Kirker and Reagan Kirker; three sisters, Tina Cullen of Osage, Rose Walker of Burlington, IA, Joni (Dean) Graves of Osage; two brothers, Geno Weldin of Fairbanks, AK; Billy Weldin of Garner, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Cullen and a niece Tami Cullen-Lievrouw
Doddie was a bartender for my Step-father, Donald Swann in Nora Springs. She was hardworking & honest. I also had the pleasure of having her as a friend. RIP Ole Girl

Doddie we go way back to our childhood days…(yes to the horse and buggy days-LOL/ smile!)…and you are just so special in my heart…I will keep your girls and grand babies in my thoughts & prayers…rest in peace sweetie.I truly will miss our phone chats…we surely have had our share!Love you SIS!!!
