Donald J. Lipp age 75 of Mason City, Iowa formerly of New Hampton, died Saturday evening, April 5, 2014, at Muse-Norris Hospice in Mason City.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at the Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church in Mason City with Rev. David Locklair officiating.
Interment will be at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Jerico Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Lawler, IA with Jake Lipp, Hunter Lipp, Ben Lipp, Don Broer, Eric Broer and David Johnson as pallbearers.
Friends may greet the family 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.Tuesday, April 8th at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Mason City. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Donald John Lipp was born April 21, 1938, in New Hampton, IA, the son of John and Viola (Stevens) Lipp. He received his education in New Hampton and was a 1956 graduate of the New Hampton High School. After graduation he joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1960.
On May 22, 1960, at the Jerico Lutheran Church, rural Lawler, he was united in marriage to Lou Ann Paulson. To this union four sons were born. The couple initially lived in New Hampton where Don worked for the former Hurdles Shoe Store until moving to Mason City in 1971. Don began his career with Mutual Of Omaha Insurance Company at that time. Later in his career, Don was an excellant jeweler, handcrafting and designing his own jewelry. During retirement he also enjoyed working as a greeter at Walmart for over ten years. In his free time Don could be found painting or fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, LouAnn Lipp of Mason City; three sons, Joel (Jean) Lipp, Dale (Cindy) Lipp, all of Nora Springs, IA and Brian (Karrie) Lipp of WI; five grandchildren, Samantha Lipp, Megan Heaberlin, Jake Lipp, Hunter Lipp and Ben Lipp; two great-grandchildren,Tucker Haeberling and Charlie Grace Haeberling; one sister, Lila Klenske of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Paul Lipp in 1982.
