Debra S. Diesburg age 56 of Allison, IA, formerly of Waterloo IA, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016, at Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home – Olson Chapel in Nashua with Rev. Gary Mayer officiating. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Nashua with Guy Schaa, Tom Diesburg, Keith Diesburg, Shawn Dietz, Jeremy Schmidt, and Brian Nolte serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Rollie Doty. Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Debra Sue Diesburg was born December 31, 1959, in Lemon Grove, California, the daughter of Clement and Gertrude (Osterman) Diesburg. She attended school at River Hills in Cedar Falls, IA. During her time in school Debbie was a participant in the Special Olympics. Debbie then moved to the West Fourth Group Home in Waterloo, living there for 36 years. She became a resident at the Rehabilitation Center of Allison because of health issues. Debbie enjoyed dancing, bowling, singing, and playing the harmonica. She loved children and was overjoyed when she had the opportunity to hold a baby. Debbie is survived by sister-in-law, Shirley Diesburg of Denver, IA; sister, Alice Schaa of Osage, IA; brother, Robert (Mary) Diesburg of Palm Coast, FL; brother, Larry Diesburg of Oakdale, CA; sister, Jeannie (Dean) Dietz of Dumont, IA; Michael (Wanda) Diesburg of Clarksville, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Clem and Gertie Diesburg; two brothers, Raymond Diesburg, and John Diesburg in infancy; brother-in-law, Ken Schaa; sister-in-law, Barbara Diesburg.
