David A. Yearous, age 55 of New Hampton, died Monday May 10, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph Center, New Hampton, with Msgr. Carl Schmitt officiating. The pall will be placed on the casket by his three sons. Lector will be Leon Kipp and the offertory gifts will be presented by Nancy and Ken Mikota Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton, with Dennis Hartson, Howard Wilshire, Scott Lester, Paul Ewert, Rich Stochl, and Mike Kennedy serving as pallbearers. Friends may call 3:00-8:00 p.m. Friday May 14, 2010 at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. David Alan Yearous was born June 19, 1954, in Waterloo, IA the son of Wayne and Phyllis (Chandler) Yearous. He received his education in Jesup, graduating from Jesup High School in 1972. He later attended Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, graduating in 1982 with an electrical degree. On July 12, 1975, Dave was united in marriage to Sue Kipp at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Festina, IA. To this union, four children were born. Dave worked for nearly 20 years at Sara Lee in New Hampton. He later worked at Nestle in Waverly, and then Ramco Innovations in Cedar Falls. Dave was very active, he had a love for golf and exercised regularly at the Chickasaw Wellness Complex. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs. Survivors include his wife, Sue; three sons, Tyler (Ashley) Yearous, Michael Yearous, Shawon Yearous all of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Doug (Lois) Yearous of WA; two sisters, Sheila Bloxham of WA, Janice (Jim) Cameron of Jesup, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in May of 2009; father in December of 2009; and one daughter, Brooke on August 5, 1981.
