Darrell William Laughlin age 72 of Osage, IA, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Linn Haven Rehab & Healthcare in New Hampton.

Inurnment will take place 2:30 p.m., Friday October 11, 2024, at the Osage Cemetery in Osage, Iowa.  Celebration following the burial will take place at Mick’s Bar & Grill in Osage.

Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton has been entrusted with arrangements.

Born on January 18, 1952, in Osage, Iowa, to William and Betty (Weipert) Laughlin, Darrell’s zest for life and boundless energy were evident from his early years. He carried these traits throughout his life, becoming a beloved figure in his community and an inspiration to all who knew him.

Darrell’s love for the outdoors was a cornerstone of his existence. He was often found hiking through the rolling hills and lush landscapes that Iowa offered, taking in the beauty of nature with every step. His appreciation for the serenity of the outdoors was matched by his passion for art, which allowed him to express his innermost thoughts and feelings in a way words never could.

Darrell’s legacy is one of passion, creativity, and an unwavering love for the natural world. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his friends, family, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. His departure from this world leaves behind a canvas of memories painted with the vibrant colors of his personality and the gentle strokes of his kindness.

Darrell is survived by his brothers: Bob Weipert of Polaski, TN, Steve (Kathy) Weipert of New Hampton, Keith (Renae) Weipert of Osage, Mike Weipert of Osage, and Brian (Kim) Weipert of Mason City; sisters: Donna (Don) Granahan of Rainier, WA, Becky (Steve) Graves of Phoenix, AZ, Mona Weipert of Osage, and Brenda (John) Cramer of Osage; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Betty (Weipert) Laughlin and stepfather Arthur Weipert.
