Curtis Curt Schuchhardt age 45 of Elma, IA died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at his home.
Curtis Charles Schuchhardt was born on December 26, 1963 to Charles and Valera (Warnke) Schuchhardt in Sumner, IA. As a youth Curt moved with his family to Alta Vista where he grew up. He attended school in New Hampton and graduated from New Hampton High School in1982. He worked as a farm hand and later drove truck for Schuchhardt Trucking. Later Curt was employed by TRI-MARK in New Hampton where he has worked for the last 16 years. Curt was united in marriage to Nancy Ptacek on December 5, 1992 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Alta Vista, IA. To this marriage two children were born, Lacey and Lucas.
Curt enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, horseback riding, farming, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Elma Sportsmans Club.
Curt is survived by his wife Nancy of Elma; daughter Lacey of Elma; son Lucas of Elma; parents Charles and Valera Schuchhardt of Unionville, MO; four sisters Brenda (Floyd) Elsbernd of Savannah, MO, Wanda (Gene) Flatjord of New Hampton, IA, Lonna (Justin) Bobst of Alexander, IA and Kim (Pat) ONeill of Fredericksburg, IA; one brother Kevin (Christy) Schuchhardt of Nashua, IA. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leonard and Berdine Warnke, his paternal grandparents Walter and Leanor Schuchhardt, and nephew Austin Erion.

Memorials Preferred in lieu of flowers.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Elma with Derek ONeill, Nathan ONeill, Jeremie Bobst, Corey Flatjord, Joshua Schuchhardt and Megan ONeill serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearer will be Austin Erion.
Visitation:
Visitation will be from 4PM-8PM on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in Elma, and will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Service:
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma with Fr. Ray Atwood officiating.
Bob knew Curt from working at Tri Mark. He always had a smile on his face and spoke highly of his wife and children. He will be greatly missed by many. We are sorry for your loss.
Curt was a brother you could go to, in time of need, he had a kind and giving heart. We will miss him dearly. Lacey and Lucas, you are your dads pride and joy, remember the special times you spent with him. Our love that we carry in our hearts for Curt will give us the strength to carry on. Curt was more than a brother to me, he was my best friend. I am so thankful god gave me 43 years of memories to cherish. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Lacey and Lucas, Curt was always sharing stories about you to everyone and he was so very proud of you and loved you with all his heart. Curt was the uncle that everyone wanted. We had him for 45 wonderful years of hunting, fishing and just bringing a smile and a joke or two. You will be sorely missed and loved. Im deeply saddened to lose such a wonderful brother during the prime of his life. His love for Lacey, Luke and Nancy was always an inspiration to me. I loved him deeply. I worked with Curt at TriMark for a good 10 years and besides work all he would do was talk about his family, how great you guys were. He loved you guys very much. Curt was a hard working guy, he would do anything for anyone no matter if he was having a bad day, and believe me he helped me out alot at work. We are all going to miss him. Your all in our prayers.

Curt was a great uncle to have and was always fun to be with whether it be hunting, bailing hay, sitting around the fire, or just seeing him in town. He always had a way to make everyone laugh and he was able to keep us laughing til we couldnt breathe. Nancey, Lacey, and Lucus we will be there for you no matter what and if ya ever need anything you can call me. Curt we will miss you greatly and we cant wait to be reunited with you again.
Curt, to my brother who I always watched over, you were my rock and my foundation. I grew strong and confident because of your love and support. You helped make me the person I am, I will always cherish our times together. I will miss you like no other, but your light will always be bright in my heart. I am very sorry for your loss. I knew Curt growing up and he was a lot of fun. I am glad that he got to do everything he wanted to do before god took him. Again i am verry sorry for your loss.
