Clarence Shatek
December 18, 1923 ~ January 5, 2015
Clarence Joseph Shatek, age 91 of Elma, IA passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at Colonial Manor of Elma.
Clarence the son of Joseph and Mary (Komarek) Shatek was born December 18, 1923 on the family farm in rural Elma. He attended the Paris Township country school where he graduated the eighth grade. Following school he went to work on the family farm. On August 28, 1945 he was united in marriage to Mildred Haskovec at Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church. Together the couple raised three children on their farm near Lourdes, IA.
Clarence had many hobbies, he loved listening to old time music, fishing, dancing, spending time in his shop, and most of all he enjoyed the moments with his family.
He was a member of Our Lady Lourdes Church where he was very active.
Clarence is survived by his sons Ron (Kate) Shatek of Annandale, MN, Larry (Joyce) Shatek of Stewartville, MN; daughter Betty (Glen) Roethler of Alta Vista, IA; sister Celia Kapler of Cresco, IA; brothers, Joe Shatek of Ft. Atkinson, IA, Leonard Shatek of Lourdes, IA, John (Margaret) Shatek of Lourdes, IA; grandchildren, Rhonda, Travis, Teresa, Rebecca, Nick, Andy, Staci, and Adam; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred Shatek; brothers, Edward Shatek, and Francis Shatek.

Ron, Betty, Larry so sorry for your loss we didnt know until noon today that your wonderful father passed away. We have very fond memories of you dad your mom they always treated us with kindness when ever we came across each other shopping or at a event, they always seems pleased to see us and would visit with us. Our most cherished memories are watching the two of them dancing, they just flowed across the floor smiling and enjoying each others company.
