I may have been the last person to hear of Clara’s death. Yet memories immediately brought a smile to my face. She and I could tease each other and both smile as if we read each other’s mind. She was a kind person, a patient thinker, and a persistent lady who kept on going no matter what. My sympathy to Shirley, Judy, Harriet, Beverly, Joyce, and Gary and all the family. Keep her smile in your hearts and carry it well in memory of ‘Mom.’

One of my most vivid memories of my mother-in-law is that she made the worst tasting lemonade one could imagine…..oh yea that was potato water I drank out of the refrigerator. It’s an inside joke folks. Back in the day we were visiting CW and Clara and I needed something to quench my thirst after a night of beer drinking. Opening the refrigerator I saw this jug that looked like lemonade and poured me a glass of it and started to drink it when I realized it tasted really bad for lemonade. Come to find out, Clara saved her potato water to make gravy. From that time on I checked to make sure Clara made real lemonade before I indulged. Oh yea everyone but me thought it was hilarious. In all sincerity, Clara was the most wonderful mother-in-law one could ask for. She is now reaping her just rewards in the Kingdom of Heaven. RIP Clara. Leon Heying
