Christopher Harris Tietz, known to many as Chris, was born on October 9, 1958 to William and Mary Kay (Zuber) Tietz. He lived a life rooted in the town of Nashua, where he was born and raised and where he remained a familiar and cherished presence throughout his years.
Chris graduated from Nashua High School in 1976, and after completing his education, he devoted himself to a life of hard work and steady service. He spent his days as a farmhand for family and friends, a role that reflected both his strong work ethic and his willingness to help wherever he was needed. His life was marked by simple values, honest labor, and a deep connection to the people and places that shaped him.
Those who knew Chris will remember him for his warm personality and his unmistakable love of conversation. He enjoyed talking with others and had a way of making time spent with him feel easy and familiar. He also loved to eat, and he appreciated the pleasures of a good meal and the comfort of sharing time around the table. His interests were as distinctive as his personality, and he found joy in collecting toy tractors, comic books, and anything he could find at a farm sale. These collections reflected his lifelong appreciation for the practical, the nostalgic, and the unique.
Chris’s life was closely tied to the rhythms of rural life and to the community that surrounded him. He understood the value of hard work, the importance of loyalty, and the pleasure of finding something special in the ordinary. Whether he was helping on a farm, searching for treasures at a sale, or visiting with friends and neighbors, he brought sincerity and good humor to the moment. He was the kind of person whose presence could be counted on, and his memory will remain with those who knew him best.
Chris is survived by his brother Jerry (Carrie) Tietz of Nashua; nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Kay Tietz; and brother George Tietz.
