Charlie was born on December 18, 1960 in Charles City, IA to John and Lorraine (Rogers) Kellner of Ionia, IA.  Charlie graduated from Nashua High School in 1979.  After high school, Charlie continued his lifelong passion of working on the family farm.  Over the last 40 years Charlie saw a lot of changes on the farm—selling off the cattle in 1991 to building his own grain drying system in 2001.   He truly loved the farm.

When not farming, Charlie enjoyed politics.  He became involved in politics and watching everything on Fox News since 2016.   He enjoyed a good debate.  He would always let you know when you were wrong and why you were wrong.   He had many cherished dogs and cats throughout the years.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nashua.

Charlie is survived by his siblings, Diane Oltmann of Grimes, IA; Cindy (Mason Larson) Kellner of Cedar Falls, IA; his nephews and nieces, Jimmy (Kate) Oltmann of Polk City, IA; Jamie Oltmann of Waterloo, IA; Stacia (Nate) Marra of Deltona, FL; Krista Kellner of Wheeling, IL and Austin (Dana) Kellner of Wheeling, IL and great nieces and nephews, Brinley, Bishop and Maren Oltmann, Athena and Maximilian Marra, and Carolyn and Levi Kellner.

  3. Charlie was a great guy, with a giant heart. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he ran into. The world needs more people with his kindness. I will miss him greatly, I will forever be thankful for the time I had with him.

  4. Charlie was my guidance and best friend for 13 years and I could NEVER repay him for the kindness, the generosity, and the impeccable friendship that he blessed me with. Even in his final days, seeing him was my top priority and he still had his spunk and goofiness to share with everyone. I’m going to miss him more than anyone will ever know and I’ll always remember the knowledge he bestowed on me. I love you Charlie and we can continue our shenanigans someday in the future, hopefully you have a Ranger up there with a seat for me. Till I see you again, I love and will always miss you.

  5. Sending our deepest sympathy at this sad time. Prayers for strength in the coming days.

  6. Charlie was a funny and caring person. The biggest thing I remember is when Charlie and another classmate would disagree over which brand of tractors were the best. It was an ongoing process. Rest in peace.

  7. Charlie has always been a good friend and there for me to hangout with. I will miss my phone calls with you, your laugh, and our fun disagreements we had. Until we meet again. 💔

  8. Charlie will miss our long discussions you started. All the good laughs we had also. I will always think of you at Christmas making you fudge that was your Moms recipe
