Charles Joseph Burgart, age 61, of New Hampton, IA passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at his home. Charles Joseph was born on June 2, 1953 to Melvin and Rita (Huegel) Burgart in New Hampton. He attended grade school at Lourdes and graduated from New Hampton High School. Upon graduating he began working at TriMark and working with various dairy farmers. He also worked sandblasting and at A-Tek. Most recently, Charlie worked at Qually's Feed and Grain in Jerico, as well as, continuing helping friends with field work. Farming has played throughout Charlie's life, as he raised beef cattle. He had a great passion for his animals, always naming each of his cattle. He enjoyed fishing, and his trips to Las Vegas and especially enjoyed spending time with nieces and nephews. Charlie was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Charlie is survived by his beloved dog, Spook; his siblings, Bill (Ginny) Burgart of Rochester, MN, Pat (Sam) Vacek of Oxford Junction, IA, Paul (Hyun Sook) Burgart of Boston, MA; Arlene (Mike) LaPlant of Red Wing, MN, Marlene (Marty) Wiley of Detroit Lakes, MN, Doris (Dean) Wendschuh of Bella Vista, AR, Jean Burgart of Cresco, IA, Nancy (Dan) Heiselman of New Hampton, IA, Shirley Burgart and Special Friend, Mike of Anchorage, AK and Karen (Kenny) Fosters of Sulphur Springs, TX; two aunts, Florentine Huegel of New Hampton, IA and Lucille Burgart of Elma, IA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Rita Burgart and his brother, Kenny Burgart.

  13. It was such a shock to hear that Charlie passed away. I will always have very special memories of him, his smile and his sparkly blue eyes. He had a very warm, kind soul. He will be missed very much.
