Charles was born January 16, 1947 in rural Bremer County, IA to Ernest and Edith (Sheldon) Testorff. He was the oldest of two sons. As a young boy he helped his father on the farm and while he was attending Fredericksburg High School he joined the F.F.A. Charles enjoyed being involved with the F.F.A. and socializing with other students that had similar interests as him. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1965 before entering the United States Army.
He was stationed in Vietnam in the height of the Vietnam War and did a lot of work with telecommunications. Although Charles did not talk about his service very often, he was proud of his service.
Charles always enjoyed farming. He liked tending to animals including, cows, pigs and even pigeons in his earlier days with the F.F.A. Charles had a good work ethic and always enjoyed his time spent outside.
He is survived by his brother Lavern (Rosemary) Testorff of Fredericksburg, IA; three nieces, Dawn (Travis) Taylor of Fredericksburg, IA, Denise (Joseph) Britt of Fredericksburg, IA, Diana (Patrick) Balk of Fredericksburg, IA; one nephew, Daryl (Carrie) Testorff of Plainfield, IA; 8 great-nieces and nephews.
