Casper Hildahl, 74, of New Hampton, died January 14, 2014 at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare in New Hampton. Per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be at a later date at Saude Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lawler. Casper Arthur Hildahl was born August 19, 1939, at rural Elma, IA, the son of Alfred and Cora (Johnson) Hildahl. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Saude. He attended country school in Howard County. Casper enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea. On July 28, 1967, Casper married Shirley Haugsted. They had three sons and divorced in 1988. Casper was employed by B&P Silo and the Schley Cheese Co. He enjoyed playing euchre, gardening, dismantling appliances for scrap metal, and crafts. Casper is survived by three sons Donnie of Charles City, Ronnie (Dan Tokach) of Mandan, ND, and Shawn of Charles City; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers Stanley (Gail) of Hemut, CA, Arlo (LaVonne) of Marshalltown, and Alton (Annie) of Spring Lake, NC; sisters Rose Marie (Richard) Feenstra of Cresco and Janice (Joel) Salazar of Cleburne, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Janis.
