Calvin Raymond Hill age 67 of Mason City died Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at his home in Mason City, Iowa. A private family service will be held at a later date. Calvin Raymond Hill, a man known for his kindness, friendliness, and handy skills, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023, in Mason City, Iowa. Born on February 4, 1956, in San Bernardino, CA, Calvin lived a life filled with dedication, passion, and love for his family and the great outdoors. Raised in the sunny state of California, Calvin was the embodiment of the American dream. He was a lifelong learner who valued education, earning an Associate's Degree which served as a foundation for his successful career. Calvin was a proud veteran, having served as a Diesel Mechanic in the Air Force. His commitment to his country and his craft did not end with his service. He continued to work as a Diesel Mechanic until his well-deserved retirement, earning the respect of his colleagues with his professionalism and expertise. A man of many talents, Calvin was also a devoted father. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Elizabeth Mahan and Roberta Hill. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a steadfast source of support, always there with a helping hand or a kind word. His family will remember him as a loving father, a loyal partner, and a true friend. When Calvin was not working or spending time with his family, he could often be found enjoying the great outdoors. An avid fisherman and hunter, he cherished the peace and tranquility found in nature. His love for these hobbies was infectious, inspiring those around him to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. Calvin was a man who lived his life with a quiet strength and a gentle spirit. His kindness and friendliness touched everyone he met. He was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need, embodying the true meaning of community. His skills as a mechanic were matched only by his ability to make those around him feel valued and appreciated. He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Mahan of Charles City and Roberta Hill of Charles City; step-daughter Argia (Brian) Greiner of Nashua; sister Roberta Faust of California; and grandchildren Mackenzie Mahan, Micheal Mahan, Kimberly Rick, and Lisa Rick. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Marie (Bernardo) Hill and Step-Father Eric Faust. 641-394-4334
