A passion for music was planted in Caleb at an early age. When Caleb entered middle school he was eager to join the band. He played the French Horn in several honor bands, pep band, and the Nashua - Plainfield High School marching band.
Caleb loved being a Husky. He could be seen at nearly every school event either helping or participating. Caleb was proud to be a Husky and call his hometown, Nashua. He was the first male cheerleader for Nashua - Plainfield High School and was a member of the 2016 State Cheerleading Championship Team. Caleb was extremely agile and nimble. It was an impressive feat that he could do a back flip.
Caleb was active in National Honor Society, was a Gold Star recipient, a member of the Family Career Community Leaders of America, Third Degree Black Belt - Tae Kwon Do, participated in Dorian and multiple honor bands, was on the Husky Leadership team and was honored by his peers being chosen the 2018 Homecoming King.
Caleb loved planning social events whether it was a get together with friends or being a part of the Over the Dam Days Committee. From these experiences, Caleb aspired to become an Event Planner.
Caleb was an amazing son, brother, friend and all around person. His contagious smile and fun loving personality will be missed by all.
Caleb is survived by his parents, Jeff (Tori) Ulrichs of Nashua, IA; brother, Keegan Ulrichs of Nashua, IA; grandparents, Ron (Jenice) Ulrichs of Nashua, IA, Terry (Vonnie) Shannon of New Hampton, IA; great-grandmothers, Jeanette Ulrichs of Nashua, IA, Laura Koeff of Denver, IA; cousins, Natalie and Gabe Ulrichs of Dyersville, IA; Griffin Stoughton of Colorado Springs, CO; aunts & uncles, John (Jeanne) Ulrichs of Dyersville, IA, Gina (Grant) Stoughton of Colorado Springs, CO.

I had the pleasure of meeting Caleb during the 3 years I worked as a substance abuse prevention specialist in Chickasaw County. Part of my position was to get students involved in preventing underage drinking and Caleb was one who volunteered, and was the only male. In the very short time I knew Caleb, it was obvious that he was passionate about helping his fellow classmates reach their full potential. Standing up against dangerous/unhealthy behavior was not a popular thing and he joined in as if there was no other option. He was a model of integrity and bravery and made the world a better place. Many will never come close achieving these attributes. His family has my deepest sympathies. God Bless.
I am so sorry for the loss of Caleb. There aren’t any words that I can think of to say except I am thinking and praying for all of you.

Embrace each other and reach out knowing you are surrounded with the love and strength everyone has shown over the past months.
Caleb, some may say you were called too soon, but it’s only the steps in your earthly journey that have ended. As God welcomes you with open arms, a spiritual journey only we can imagine begins. Embrace it, for it is here you will understand your eternal purpose.
