Brian K. Allen, 50, of rural New Hampton died April 28, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg with Pastor Shirley Hoffmann Will officiating. Gail Allison will serve as organist and the church choir will lead the congregation in the singing of “Amazing Grace” and “Here I Am Lord”. Isaac Holmes and Preston Herrmann will be the candle lighters. Mark and Vickie Rhea will be the host and hostess. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with David Isenhower, Jim Allison, Harvey Richards, Don Harty, Tom Myers and Rod Reicks serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Fredericksburg (563)237-6212 and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Brian Kenneth Allen was born January 22, 1959, in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Darrell and Thelma (Means) Allen. He graduated from New Hampton High School in 1977. Following graduation Brian began a life-long career as an over the road truck driver. He was united in marriage to Julie Brandenburg on September 8, 1984 at Fredericksburg. They were blessed with a son, Justin. Brian enjoyed trucking cross country especially the times when his family could travel with him. He loved being a father to Justin and special family friend Tiffany. He enjoyed being in his shop with Justin, as they worked on the “Firebird”. He also enjoyed NASCAR. Brian was a member and leader in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Julie and son, Justin; his mother, Thelma Allen of New Hampton; three brothers, Gary Allen and special friend, Barbara of Boise, ID, Dean Allen and his wife, Monica of Red Bluff, CA and Darwin Allen and his wife, Deb of Ionia; one sister, Karen Montgomery and her husband, Don of Burlingame, KS; special family friend, Tiffany Harnisch of Fredericksburg; his church family and many friends. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Allen.

  14. It was with great sadness that I read of Brians passing. Seeing that big smile of his took me back 40 years when we rode the school bus together, and always sat in the back seat. I always sat with Brian and my brother Irvin sat with Darwin. We had some good times riding the bus, and I cherish those memories of Brian. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.
