Arthur Gustav Axberg was born February 9, 1925, in Polk, NE, the son of Karl and Louise (Anderson) Axberg. In 1946, Arthur moved to Iowa from Illinois; during the move he made 17 trips between the states to transport the machinery and establish the family farm. On April 28, 1978, he married Lorraine Huebner at St. John Lutheran Church in Fredericka.
Arthur lived and spent much of his time on the family farm, where he was devoted to his cattle and crops. Each year Arthur and Lorraine took pride in a beautiful vegetable and flower garden. He will be remembered as everyone’s friend, a handy man for his neighbors, and ready to square dance on a moment’s notice.

Hi!I was just surfin’ aournd for some facts about dog dancing in Austria (where I live), when I finally saw your shows from the crufts on youtube.My first thought: Amazing!My second thought: How to teach a dog something like this! I have a pug, her name is Mia and she actually just does something like twist, jumping over my arms, legs, into my arms, stuff like that. I think that a pug may cannot do some of these special tricks I saw now, wich are easier vor bigger dogs.In just a few minutes watching the videos and reading this website I became a great fan of you two! I really enjoyed watching your performance!Best wishes PS: I hope my English was okay (;
Aunt Lorraine, We are grateful for the wonderful times we’ve had with you and Art. Art was a part of our lives, our special events, holidays and birthdays. We’ve loved riding on the tractor with him, feeding chickens and cows, picking up eggs, playing Connect 4, and playing with his dogs. We’ll miss his sparkling eyes and hugs. Thanks for sharing him with us. Love, Your great nieces and nephews Derrick (Cedar Rapids), Ethan and Ahren (Amana), Brooklyn (North English), Kyl and Amanda (North English) Jacob, Hailey and Madison (Quad Cities), Carter and Mara (St. Paul)
Lorraine, Sincere sympathy & prayers to you in the loss of Art. I know the two of you had many happy years together. Know that I am thinking of you even though way down in Texas. In prayer, Mary Lou (Schmidt) Benson
Lorraine, I am so sorry to hear about Art. I remember him always with a big smile on his face and a shared love for dogs. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time, Brenda Foster
Art was such a great neighbor! Whenever Dad (Bob Ball) needed something repaired, Dad would often go to Art. Lorraine, both Mom and Dad (Carolyn and Bob Ball) treasured their friendship with you and Art. I will long remember Art as a kind and gentle person! Terrill & Mona Ball
Art was such a gentle soul…for such big stature! I have many memories of his tractor and corn sheller in our yard and having him around our dinner table when the work was done. I so appreciated his good friendship to my dad through the years. You have my deepest sympathy.
