She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lesly Mayorga of Davenport, Iowa, and Alex Henderson of New Hampton, Iowa.
Connie leaves behind her siblings: Dale (Linda) Tiemessen, Roger (Laurie) Tiemessen, Gary Tiemessen (Cindy DeWit), and Sandy (Mark) Cloud, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered thoughts, prayers, support, well wishes, and kindness throughout Connie’s journey. A special thank you goes to Dr. Naseri and his incredible staff at MercyOne Cancer Center in Waterloo; Dr. Matt Sowles and his nurses at MercyOne New Hampton; the emergency room physicians and nurses at MercyOne New Hampton; and the amazing team at St. Croix Hospice for the compassion, dedication, and exceptional care they provided to Connie and her family.
In accordance with Connie’s wishes, she will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held in lieu of a traditional funeral service on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Chickasaw Event Center in New Hampton from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Though her time here was far too short, Connie’s love, generosity, and the countless lives she touched will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.
