Roger Ray Crooks age 70 of Charles City, IA died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at his home of natural causes.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home – Olson Chapel in Nashua with Rev. John Tunnicliff presiding. Burial will be at a later date.
Friends may greet the family from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the funeral home.
Roger Ray Crooks was born December 23, 1947 in Charles City, IA, the son of Ray and Martha (Wolff) Crooks. He attended Nashua Schools before entering into the United States Army at a young age
.
He enjoyed fishing, painting scenes on driftwood and traveling. He traveled the country for much of his life.
Roger is survived by one daughter, Michelle Crooks of Mason City, IA; one son, Jeff Crooks of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Lee (Regina) Crooks of Iowa City, IA; one sister, Marlys (Ron) Brunsvold of Davenport, IA; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother-in-law, Jim Ridder of Rudd, IA; one sister-in-law, Andrea Crooks of Fort Madison, IA; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ron and Terry Crooks; one sister Norma Ridder.
I remember Roger coming to visit our house when I was a young girl; he was sometimes with my Uncle Clark Crooks. We so enjoyed those times and I know my parents thought the world of Roger. My condolences to the family; you will be in our prayers. Connie (Crooks) Reed

So sorry for the loss of your last brother. I had not realized you have lost all of them.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I was talking with a friend the other day about snow storm’s in Iowa. It snowed so much the bus could not drive on the country roads. Roger and Ron stayed at our house a couple of days until the snow plows cleared the country roads. lg
