Paul C. Barta, age 47 of Lawler, IA, died Sunday, April 9, 2017, at his home of natural causes. Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday April 12, 2017, at the Hugeback Johsnon Funeral Home in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Calhoun, Clyde Throndson, Justin Zeran, Deb Throndson, Dennis Kuehn and Cassie Throndson. Friends may greet the family 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday before the service at the funeral home. Paul Clifford Barta was born July 19, 1969 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Frank and Mary (Throndson) Barta. He received his education from the Turkey Valley Community School District and was a graduate of the class of 1986. Paul always wanted to be a truck driver, which he became and drove for many years. He loved to go fishing, camping and spending time on the pontoon. He also loved spending time with family, friends, neighbors and his dogs. He will be remembered as one of the the kindest people you would ever meet. Paul is survived by his mother, Mary Markee of Lawler; one brother, Clayton Throndson (Lori Davis) of Lawler; two nieces, Cassie Throndson (Renn) of Sumner and Alix Throndson of Waterloo; one nephew, Zach Davis of Waterloo; aunts and uncles, Ed (Vicki) Throndson of Lawler, Caroline Ohm of Desoto, WI, Bonnie (Bud) Kestel of New Hampton; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eva and Clarence Throndson; two aunts, Virginia Cutsforth and Myrtle Wolfe; five uncles, Paul Throndson, Thomas Throndson, Ole Throndson, Ralph Throndson and Bob Lampman; step-father, Dennis Markee.

  1. Paul has been our neighbor in Lawler since we’ve been married over 40 years ago. He has been a nice neighbor always up for a good conversation. Friendly and smiling is how I will remember Paul. Rest in peace. Our deepest sympathy to Mary, Clayton and family.
