While at a local dance, Mavis met Clayton Burgart of New Hampton and on April 8, 1989, at the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Hampton, they were united in marriage. Mavis and Clayton enjoyed many years together and loved dancing and listening to old-time music. Mavis was known for working outdoors caring for her flowers and her yard. She loved to go fishing and playing cards with anyone up for a game. Clayton died January 4, 2012 at the age of 94. Mavis loved spending time with her large and extended family and the many friends throughout her last years.
