Helen Mary Stolfus age 80 of Fredericksburg, IA, died Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare in New Hampton. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Hugh Mackintosh presiding. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with Zach Zeien, Ryon Kilcher, Jon VanSickle, Sean Slick, Trish Bean, Virgil Snyder and Wes Snyder serving as pallbearers. Friends may greet the family 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Visitation continues an hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Helen Mary Stolfus was born December 8, 1938, in Waucoma, IA, the daughter of Virgil and Julia (Meyer) Buschman. She received her education at St. Mary’s School in Waucoma. She married William Kilcher in the fifties and to this union, two sons were born. Bill Kilcher passed away in 1984. On July 30, 1988, she was united in marriage to Lyle Stolfus who passed away in 2010. Helen lived and worked in Fredericksburg most of her adult life having worked 38 years at Beatrice Cheese Creamery. Helen’s life was all about her family. She entertained her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to cook for the many times they would get together. She liked to garden and watch the wildlife at her acreage on the edge of town. Helen will be remembered for collecting angels and always had a new spot on her shelf for just ‘one more angel’. She will be dearly missed by her family. Survivors include two sons; William Bryan Kilcher and Donald Carl Kilcher, both of Fredericksburg; grandchildren, Ryon (Amy) Kilcher, Bobbie (Jon) VanSickle all of Fredericksburg, Tim (Coletta) Harnisch of Elgin, IA, Tiffany (Sean) Slick of Sumner, IA, , Karli Kilcher (Zach Zeien) of Fredericksburg, Cassie Kilcher of Jacksonville, NC; great-grandchildren, Eddie, Ivan and Nora Kilcher, Davis, Amelia and Dawson VanSickle, all of Fredericksburg, Damian and Skylar Harnisch of Elgin, IA, Duncan and Beau Slick of Sumner, IA; sister, Betty (Jim) Snyder of New Hampton; a very close great-niece, Trish Bean of Alpha, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Kilcher, Lyle Stolfus; sisters, Dorothy, Rosemary and Frances; a niece, Diane Bean.
